I installed a Windows XP Upgrade from Windows 98 and I did
not uninstall Norton Antivirus. Now I am unable to
uninstall or re-install. What is required to correct this
problem. I also have the same problem with the Norton
Firewall with respect to re-installing this. I believe
that I need to turn off the firewall protection in XP
first and then I should be able to install the Firewall.
Is this correct???

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

How to use the Norton SystemWorks cleanup utility (SymClean)
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/nsw.nsf/docid/2001101612274407

Download and run the above cleanup utility, reboot your computer,
logon with Administrator privileges, then proceed to install Norton 2002
or 2003.

Open XP's "Help and Support" and type: FIREWALL , and hit enter.
Click on the topic titled "Enable or Disable Internet Connection Firewall".
You should disable XP's firewall if installing Norton's.
