Installing windows 2000

I have a laptop with windows xp pro and im trying to
install windows 2000 but i get the following error
msg "Windows 2000 is incompatible with this version of
Windows" Does anyone know how to get around it?

There is no downgrade path from Windows XP to Windows 2000.
You need to perform a Clean Installation destroying all data on the
partition.
Or if you have another partition, install Windows 2000 on that
partition and have a dual boot computer.
