I purchased an older computer that has an unregistered
version of XP installed. Because it is unregistered, it
will not open but attempts to contact Microsoft to
register. I want to uninstall it and install an OEM
version of WIN95 with an Windows 98 Upgrade. How do I
uninstall if I cannot open XP and cannot access DOS? Can
I enter Setup, list the CD drive as default and then
startup with the WIN95 disk and install it over XP?

thanks,
Rick

Do you have a WIN98 boot disk? If so, use it to delete the non dos, (NTFS),
partition that XP is installed on. Pop in the WIN95 disk and you should be
off and running. If the partition is FAT32, just follow the on screen
instructions for the tasks you want to perform. Go to www.bootdisk.com for
the WIN98 bootdisk if you don't have one.
