Windows 2000 in a network environment
I was recently given admin access on the local machine, so I should be able
to do this.
Added a new USB 2 PCI card and plugged my Palm into it. It detects a new
device and tries to install it but says it is "unable to find the required
file" and stops.
The weird part - It goes ahead and does the sync. The device works fine, but
every time I sync. it goes through the new device, unable to install
routine.
Now, I thought it was a Palm issue (actually it's a Visor), but in the
process of trying to do this, I removed the USB drivers to have them
redetected and reinstalled. They did the exact same thing and put me into an
infinite loop of constantly trying to install devices. But the USB ports
work fine as well.
A re-boot and the USB drivers seemed to have installed, but I still can't
get the Palm to go. I've tried a camera as well and get the same results. It
works, but won't install.
Ideas anyone?
Thanks.
