Installing SP2-SP4 not possible for Win 2000

I have tried installing SP4 from the microsoft site and it
would not install completely. It stops halfway through.
I then bought the CD from Microsoft to try it. Same
result. I then tried installing just SP2 from the
Microsoft site. Stops halfway through. I need to get SP2
at least to put in the worm32 patch. I am currently SP1
on Windows 2000. The antivirus protection is turned off
during the install.

Any suggestions????

Hi

- Have you tried to install it in Safe Mode

- disable (if possible) all non-essential services befor attempting to
install

- don't run any AV Apps
