Installing software so that ALL USERS can use.

Can someone please tell me how to install programmes, ie Office XP etc.. so
that all users can use the programme without having to install for each
user. I already have several users on the computer but only one 'copy' of
all software on my user profile. How do I correct this so that all users
can use the CURRENTLY INSTALLED software. All advice gratefully received.

Hi Mike,

Some programs do this for you, but often older software will not and must be
installed under each user. This is because the software was not written for
true user profiles. OfficeXP should only need to be installed once, just
place the program shortcuts in the allusers folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs

For some users, you will need to adjust permissions, this may help:
