I installed Win XP Pro on my computer from a zero start (ie formatted the drive & did clean install)
I set up internet & LAN connections - all working fine.
To do this I had to first install network drivers from manufacturer's CD - no problem
Next, tried to install USB drivers from same CD - didn't work, error message saying I need SP1
Downloaded SP1 - lightning fast
Installed - took over an hour to get to 100% on progress bar, now has been at the end of the progress bar for over half an hour. Is this normal? Or do I need to reformat to remove Windows & my attempted USB installation & start again with the SP1 installatoin first?

When you do a "clean install" take the downloads for SP!a and all other
critical updates before you install anything else. *I think*, your best bet
is, start over.
