When you are installing new updates, is it ok for other programs to be
running on your computer?

You should close all open windows before installing updates.
Its not necessary to disable programs that may be running in
the background. Don't use your computer while visiting the
Windows Update web site.

Hi

Probably not - especially a real time AV program. There is no need to 'kill' all the running processes. Ctrl-Alt-Del - stop all on the 'Applications' tab - apart from IE that is...

No you should not be multi tasking while installing Updates. The same is
true for installing any software.

Hi Harry

'Multi Tasking' instead of 'other programs running'... that's profound <BG>
