While installing my new printer I get prompted in French and the utilities
are in French also. I have the right CD. Where and how do I get Window XP to
initiate the installation software in English?

It sounds like you chose the wrong language when doing the printer
install. This would not be because of your operating system (XP). HP
software, for instance, has many languages on the CD. You have to
choose EN (English).

Just to add to my other note since I see you have a French name - is
your Windows XP the French version?

I recently encountered this also. You need to make sure that the Regional and
Language Option settings are correctly set for English. Also, make sure that
the third panel "Language for non-Unicode program" also has the correct
settings for your English version.
