Ipod software loads and hangs at Configuring Windows

How do you correct this problem.

Uninstall and reinstall your Apple Ipod. Go to
Click to expand...
Start/ControlPanel/Add or Remove Programs and uninstall.
Do not delete but uninstall only, there is a difference.
