I have to purchase a sound driver on the internet. It was
downloaded to a zip file and then unzipped. How do I
install this new sound driver from the unzipped files? I
am not familiar with Zip.

Hi Rachel

You need to go to the folder that the files were unzipped
to. If you don't know or can't remember just unzip it
again and look at the path. Once you get that
inforamtionyou then go to that folder and there should be
an installation file there with an .exe extension. Double
click that and it should begin the installation process.

What is the brand name and model number of the soundcard in question ?
Drivers are almost always available for free download. Often, Windows XP has
the driver.

Download and install WinRAR version 3.30 from here:
http://rarlabs.com/download.htm

Example:
You've downloaded a file to the desktop called example.zip. Right-click on
example.zip. You will see a list called the "context menu". Choose "extract
to example\". You should now have a folder called "example" on the desktop.
Double click to open it. You should find a file called Setup.exe. If so,
double
click it and follow the prompts.
