Installing error with new hard drive

Here is the problem for me:
I bought a WD 160GB with the ATA card and I am doing a
new installation with XP.

when it is installing XP and does Registering Components
it goes straight to the Blue Screen of Death.

Gives message of:

Stop:
0X0000007F (0X00000008,0X80042000,0X00000000,0X00000000)

I need help. my motherboard is only 1 year old.

Yeah, could be one of the following.
Incompatible RAM
incompatible BIOS

Try this also, when asking you to press F6 to load SCSI or whatever, hold
down F7 (there's no option for this listed)
that bypasses certain power management features, but obviously will only
work if the problem is power management related.

Try putting the RAM in a different slot.
When I've seen this stop error, it's usually always the ram that's some
weird brand, or the wrong mhz
