installing driver

When trying to install Canon camera WIA Driver Windows installer package, it says This installation can not be run by directly launching the MSI package; you must run setup.exe. How do I run setup.exe. to install the driver?
 
Place the software CD in your CD drive and wait 15-20 seconds for XP to
recognized it.
A window (Autoplay window) may open. Click on the Cancel button to close it.
Open My Computer, look under Devices with Removable storage. The software CD
will be listed there. Click on it to open it.
You will see a list of files. One of these files should be setup.exe. Double
click on it to start installation. If there is not setup.exe, look for
install.exe
