Installing dotnetfx.exe

I get an error message that dotnetfx.exe is not a valid Win32 applicaton when
I'm trying to install .net 1.1 on a windows 2000 server. What do I need to do
to install .net 1.1 on a windows 2000 server.

can you try to re-download it in case its a corrupt download?
it should run fine on an out-of-the-box win 2000 server. make sure to
download from an official microsoft source, e.g. www.asp.net or
www.microsoft.com
