To anyone who can help:

I have a friend who has a Korean version of Microsoft ME
and needs to switch to an English version of XP. He does
not want to lose all of his files, however, in the
process. If I remember correctly, XP will not let you
upgrade from a non-English OS without wiping out all
current data. Another friend insists that it can be done
as he, himself, upgraded from Korean Windows 98 to an
English XP without any loss of data. Can anyone help me
out with this and let me know which of the two is correct?

Thanks in advance~

You can not upgrade from Korean Windows 9x to English Windows XP.
You need to buy a full version of Windows XP English.and perform a
Clean Installation after backing up important data.

Your other friend backed up his data or possibly used FAST (unsure if
it works between languages)

Greetings --

You cannot upgrade or convert from one language version of the an
OS to another, so you'll have to purchase and use the full version of
English WinXP to perform a clean installation.
