Installing another dictionary

I need to have my spellchecker work in two languages, English and Portuguese.
Is this possible? Can I check a letter in Portuguese (Brasil) and then have
it check anther document written in English.

Yes, but you will need the proofing tools for both languages installed.

If you have Portuguese localized version of Office, then it comes with both
Portuguese and English proofing tools. Otherwise, you need to purchase a
separate Proofing Tools for Office CD that matches your version of Office. If
you live in US, you can order online:
http://www.microsoft.com/products/info/default.aspx?View=22. Outside the
United States, the Proofing Tools CD is available in stores.
