Hi,

I got a new computer, but didnt order a modem with it cause i figured i can
just install my old one. No driver for it though...its a conexant. So I
whacked it in the back, along with my old sound card too, which i do install
and works fine (albeit with the driver disk). But the computer doesnt find
the modem (with the usual automatic add hardware wizard that pops up when u
put something new in your comp).

So its not even noticing that its plugged into it, so its not even a driver
issue yet! I've tried swapping it round with other cards and stuff...no
luck...why cant my comp find it, and what can i do to get it to bloody work!

Cheers

1. Are you sure you do not already have a Motherboard built-in modem? Many
modern PC's have this function.
2. Control Panel-System-Hardware Do you have a modem listed or are there
any Yellow ! marks?
3. What operating system are you using?
4. If XP then this page might be helpful
