Can 2 versions of Word coexist peacefully on my XP Pro? How? This is needed
for my work..I am a medical transcriptionist and one of the companies I'll be
working for has a platform that does not understand Word 2003 and the saving
down option is not, well, an option. I also have a laptop with XP Home on
it. Would it be possible to put one version of Word on it and somehow access
it through my main computer?

Thank you.

If you go to Tools > Options > Compatability, I believe that you can
select what version of word you would like your files saved as. I don't
know how bullet proof it is, but it is worth a try.

First of all, thank you both so much for responding. I did read the MS
article, unfortunately, I already have Word 2003 on my computer so removing
it is probably not an option (what would happen to all my files?!) and the
directions make it sound like, "even though you CAN do this, it's scary." I
guess I won't be able to work for this customer....but really what possible
reason could they have for not being able to use a document that was typed in
2003 and saved downward? I just don't get it...anyway, thanks a lot for your
help.

Uninstalling Word will not affect the documents you have created with it.
