Installation problem

Hello guys

I'm facing this trouble...
I've just got a desktop and the machine came with Windows
XP and Microsoft Office Basic preinstalled. As Office
2003 Basic Edition does not have Powerpoint I got the
blessed PowerPoint separately ( and spent extra £ 90 ),
Anyway...now when I try to install the PowerPoint I get
this error message:
Error 1608. Setup could not locate a version of
bla..bla..bla... Then I'm here wondering if I need to BUY
abything else to make the powerpoint run. Or should I go
for Lynux?

Sounds like you have purchased the "powerpoint upgrade"....as it sounds like the installation setup is trying to locate
a qualifying product...and fails.

You must have purchased the PowerPoint 2003 Upgrade. Office Basic Edition
2003 does not qualify you for the less expensive upgrade version. You need
to purchase the full version of PowerPoint 2003. See the following pages
