Installation of XP Pro over borrowed copy

I borrowed a copy of XP Pro from a friend and installed it on my
machine to see whether I'd rather use it than Win 98 which I had
before. I cleared my hd and did a fresh full install.

Now I want to put on a purchased OEM version I just bought so I will
have a legal copy.

Will I be able to install over what I have now somehow, or will the
old XP demand that I install with the prior CD and not the new one?

I really don't want to have to format the drive and start all over
reinstalling software again.

With an OEM CD, you will have to format the hard disk and start afresh.

If you purchased a "Full Version" of XP Pro,
simply perform a "repair install". If you purchased
XP Home, then a reformat of your drive is required.

It's OEM alright, but I was told it was a full version. If it is,
couldn't I do a reinstall?
