Installation of sonic stage software

I am running XP pro w/ sp2 installed.
I have never been able to install the software, sonic stage v 2.2 for my
sony net MD walkman.
I have tried to download the current version from sony and I will get so far
along on the install and a error pops up and the software stops loading.
It shows up as " Install Launcher has encountered a problem and must shut
down".

Any ideas how to get this software installed

Start >> Run..." then navigate to the OMG directory, then
OMGJB22_SS10-P5(or something similar), then the English directory and select
setup.exe. Run it.

Then do the same with the SonicStage directory and the Simple Burner
directory.

If it works, let me know (it worked for me) and please tell me if ever you
find a solution or a decent workaround.
