I have a huge problem. Im running windows xp, It has been getting alot of
viruses and spyware. It was not using any virus protection before I got it. I
just got it and thought the best bet would be reinstalling windows. I started
to and in got to the point where it was registering files and had 14 mintutes
left. It sat like that for an hour and a half then went to 9 minutes. It sat
like that for like 9 hours. I tried starting over the installation. Rebooting
will only bring me back to that installation screen. Even safe mode brings me
back to the installation. Now I think fine I will just format the hard drive,
but alas put in the dos boot disk and it wont let access and drives accept
the floppy. No hard drive, nothin. what do I do?

Really DOS boot diskettes are almost useless on these machines.

The boot diskette won't access the drives because they are formatted NTFS.
You'd have to run fdisk from the diskette to remove and recreate then format
the partitions.

However, you might just as well boot from the XP CD and recreate the
partitions and format from there.
