I just purchased a used computer with Windows 2000
Professional installed, but no disks were included. I want
to perform a fresh install of 2000. Is there any way to
get the disk without buying a new retail package?

Thanks, Jeff

There's no legal way.

I'm in the same boat myself. I got one off Ebay. It may be a different
version from the one on the PC (as mine was) so you won't be able to replace
files with it but if everything goes wrong and you need to reformat you will
then be able to use your CD after that to maintain your system. Actually, I
was able to use my CD to add language files without any problem.

go back to the seller and ask them for the install cd!
by law when you sell a used pc with an operating system
installed and working, you are required to also turn over
the original software install cd's, else you're in
violation of copyright of the operating system.

Your only legal recourse is to buy the operating system cd.

Look around on the internet, you should be able to buy a full installation
disk for around $100-150...
