Upgrading my daughters computer from Win 98 to XP Home
edition using Win XP disc for my computer...fully
intending to buy her a legal copy of her own before to
activation deadline. Bought the software 2 weeks
later...went to activate her software. It accepted it
when I think it should not have. I expected it to ask for
a new product key and it did not. I tried for two hours
looking on the microsoft website for a phone number to
call activation about this...no where to be found.

NOW WHAT?

Are one of the computers going to become un-usable?

Help!!

You need to purchase the same version of Windows XP you
installed on your daughter's computer and change the Product
Key. Even though XP activated successfully, you are currently
in violation of the End User License Agreement.
