Install XP with SATA HDD

Hi,

Just tried to install XP Pro on a new PC with SATA HDD and
setup tells me it cannot find a HDD, should I have a driver
for this?

Motherboard should come with a driver for the on-board SATA controller.

You need to copy the Sata driver from your MOBO disk onto a floppy.
During the XP installation it will say push F6 if you are installing other than
IDE.
At which point it will search only the floppy drive for a driver and install it.
From then on the install should...will...go smoothly
