Install XP Pro

My laptop has a lot of unwanted items -- probably due to
installing and uninstalling programs. It's also starting
to move slow. I would like to reinstall XP Pro. What is
the best method? Should I do full installation (e.g.,
insert CD and install as new OS)? Please advise. Thanks
in advance :)
 
A fresh new install formatting the HD in the process definitly gives you a clean
sheet to work with.
On the other hand you will have to reinstall all your programs and save your
work beforehand.

Does that mean I can just insert the XP CD and let it do
a clean install? I don't mind reinstalling all my other
programs. And, yes, I did backup all working files that
I want to save. Thanks again :)
 
Have 12G hard drive laptop. I'm trying to install fresh
version of XP, but during installation, grt msg about
installing XP in certain partition: 11510MB DISK 0 at
ID0 on bus 0 on ATAPI [MBR] c:\Partition1 [FAT 32] 11510
B (7072 MB FREE). What does that mean. This was a used
laptop that I purchased. I want to do fresh install, but
this is the messge. ANY SUGGESTIOMS? THANKS AGAIN IN
ADVANCE :)
 
It says you have one HD with one partition 11510mb in size that has been
formatted for Fat32 file system
Now you just need to go on and reformat that drive.

Clean Installation.
