Have a computer running Windows 2000. Had to buy full
install because can't upgrade from 200 to XP. When I
installed it XP became a second operating system and it
does not access any of the software, files or internet
setup. Is there a way to move the info over and uninstall
the 2000? Or reinstall in a way that is more like an
upgrade, keeping all of the old settings and data?

Thanks!
Karen

You need a "Retail Version" of Windows XP Professional
in order to Upgrade over Windows 2000.

Data or Program Settings Are Missing After You Install Windows XP

You can use the retail XP upgrade to upgrade 2000 to XP.
Sounds like you used a OEM version and the OEM version will not upgrade, it
will only do a new install. There is no way to upgrade, but you may be able
to run the Files and Settings Transfer wizard to transfer the files and
settings to the XP installation. What you have is a dual boot. Are both
Win 2K and XP on the same partition? If they are, You have a real mess, and
you probably should backup everything and do a clean install of XP.
