Hi, all...
I've just signed in and do not know a lot of Windows... but I have a doubt.
I have in my PC a Professional version for Windows. I bought one official,
but it is the Home Edition version.
How can I change it without loosing information - is it possible to start
the computer by the CD and choose the Repair option?
Please, give me some tips...
Regards,

There are no tips.
You can't downgrade to Home from Pro.
You can save your data, but all programs would have to be reinstalled.

The only way to change from WinXP Pro to WinXP Home is to format
the drive and start over. There is no supported downgrade path or
technique.

After backing up any data you wish to preserve, and using the File
and Settings Wizard to preserve personal settings, simply boot from the
WinXP Home installation CD. You'll be offered the opportunity to
delete, create, and format partitions as part of the installation
process. (You may need to re-arrange the order of boot devices in the
PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)

Also keep in mind that once you downgrade there is no upgrade path from Home
to Pro, so it's a one way trip.

Sorry, not true. Although you can't downgrade from Professional to Home, the
upgrade from Home to Professional is supported, legal, and the easist and
most-likely successful of all possible upgrades.

Huh? That's just plain wrong. WinXP Home to WinXP Pro is a very easy
upgrade.

now you can use a virtual machine to do a dual boot(home and xp) but you need
to have the right spec to do this(double ram, hard drive and other)

On contrary. Home to Pro is basically "upgrading" to the same OS. It's
simply a $99 upgrade.
