Install Windows XP on CD or DVD

Hello!

Does anyone know if it's possible to install Windows XP on CD or DVD? I aim
to use it when computer are infected by virus or when harddrive is on the
way to get crazy...

If I'm not misstaken this was possibly in Windows 9x maybe this is the way
to go still with NTFS2DOS?
