I have a copy of windows xp sp2 running on a AMD64 I recently recieved a copy
of the 64 bit version I want to install over the 32bit version (my 32bit
version is starting to act slugish and needs to be reinstalled anyways) I
dont want have to reinstall all my programs and do I need to back everything
up is there a way of backing all programs up and content.. Is there a way I
can just install the 64 bit version right over the other. Or do i have
re-install all programs?

Thanks

In advance

There's no upgrade path from 32-bit WinXP to WinXPx64. You'll need
to perform a clean installation. Make sure that you have all of the
necessary 64-bit device drivers for your PC's hardware components
readily available.

Simply boot from the WinXPx64 installation CD. You'll be offered
the opportunity to delete, create, and format partitions as part of the
installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the order of boot
devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)

Or do i have
re-install all programs?

Yes.
