I want to Install Exchange 2003 or 2007 and it requires Windows 2003 Server.

Could I install Exchange 2003 under Vista.

only win NT and 2000 not XP

I may be wrong but as far as I know, excepting NT 3.51 to NT4 Server,
you cannot upgrade *any* workstation operating system to *any* server
operating system. Did that change with Server 2003?

John

Exchange has to be installed on a version of server (server 2003 or what
have you), not a desktop operating system.
Sorry,

I'm basically want the mail server and ftp server feature of exchange which
is why I was thinking of installing Exchange 2003 on to my WINXP PRO, but
this failed and said I must install windows 2003 server.

I wanted to check first if I can install Windows 2003 Server on top of
Windows XP Pro.

Looks like I cannot to this unless I reformat my harddisk.

No. There's never been any supported upgrade path to transition from a
client operating system to a server OS.
