Install of XP Professional

I am installing XP on a new hard drive, that has been
partitioned. I would like to rid myself of the partition,
and install. However, I can not get windows to install.
It gets to the installing devices, and crashes out to a
reboot and starts all over. How do I get rid of this
problem>

get a win98 start-up disk reboot system make sure
bios is set to boot up floppy seek.
at the a prompt type fdisk eg. a:>fdisk
tip: make sure you delete all non dos partitions first
eg. delete partition 2 then 1 then create primary
partition now format a:format c:
