I've wiped my drive and am installing XP. After
formatting, when coying files. I get an error Did not
copy _____ file correctly. Whether I try to restart or
ignore it doesn't work. It's a different file everytime
and seems to go through this warning with every damn
file. I've tried several different XP CDs, so it's not
the CD. I even tried going back to what I was on
previously (2000) and the same errors come up.

Previous setup: Windows 2000. Replaced motherboard and
processor. Wiped drive and now trying to install windows.

PLEASE HELP

I have seen this several times. XP is very sensitive to
any type of hardware failure. The random error is telling
you that a hardware component is either incompatible or
failing. Usually RAM is the culprit, second would be the
motherboard. YOu can test this theory by trying to install
any other OS...it will work flawlessly. XP will be the
only OS that fails.

Greetings --

Problems copying files or corrupted files during installation are
most often caused by defective or sub-standard hardware; in order of
likelihood, either RAM, the hard drive, or the motherboard. On much
less frequent occasions, a bad CD or defective CD drive can also cause
this.
