When I click in a empty text box, a four character block appears instead of
the usual vertical bar. For example, if I click to the immediate left of the
word "look", the whole word becomes selected and flashes like a cursor. I've
been through Keyboard and Mouse and a bit of Accessibility Options but
nothing works. Can I be the only person on the planet with this problem?

Somehow you've lost me, but I'd like to try to help.. An "empty text
box".. is that within a particular program? What "Look" area?

See if this helps:

Line 345. Dialog Boxes are Blank - Winnt - Windows

Whether you use the "Winnt" or "Windows" file link, depends on the name
of your Windows folder.

Its happens throughout Windows XP and every program I use in XP.

When I say "empty textbox", I mean an empty text box, a text box waiting for
input. For example, I open a new mail message in Microsoft Outlook and the
"To" Feild is blank. When I click in the field, The blinking insertion bar/
cursor shows up.

When I say "look", I mean the word look. For example, if I type the word
"sink" into a field and then click to the left of the word "sink", the whole
word "sink" becomes selected and flashes like a cursor.

I hope that explains it better...I'm gonna check the website you sent.
Thanks for the help!
