Inserting WMV files into PPT 2002

Can anyone tell me how I can use a .WMV or VMA in
Powerpoint XP (Powerpoint 2002)? I can insert .MOV, .MPG
and .MPEG, but not .WMV...??? I have upgraded to
Mediaplayer series 9. My OS is Win2000. Is it a codec that
I am missing?
 
Can you tell us what happens when you try? Do you get an error?

I use the standard "Insert - video - from file" and the
error message reads: "Powerpoint can't insert the selected
videofile. The file is not standard or Quicktime is not
properly installed." (it's in norwegian, so my translation
may not be accurate. My Quicktime is v. 6.4...
