Inserting Footnotes

I am trying to add footnotes to an Excel 2003 Worksheet. To be more specific, I am working on a budget for an NGO and I want to put explanatory footnotes for categories that print at the bottom of the page

I know in Word it's Insert-Reference-Footnote ... is there such a function in Excel

Excel does not support footnotes. One workaround: goto 'Insert -
Comments' and use the comment functionality.
Within the menu 'File - Pagesetup - sheet' you can define how to
print-out these comments
