Insert text @ cursor position

Are creating Outlook 2000 mail items using vba.

Scenario is: Select from our own menu item in the inspector (returns small
string), but want
to insert the string at the current cursor position in the mail item body.

Can only figure out how to add the returned string at the beginning or end
of the
body.

However, have notoiced when inserting a signature in a normal email that the
text is inserted
at the the current text position. How is this done?

any ideas
