Insert picture from a file thumbnails

I installed Word 2002 on a new PC and the thumbnails for jpg
files don't show their pictures when I use Insert - Picture - From
File. I have another computer with an identical install that shows
the full picture in the thumbnail preview. Is there a setting I need
to change to view previews of all the pictures?

Your new machine is correctly configured - the other may have been modified
to force a different view. See

Thanks for the response Graham. The problem I have is not with the
default view, but that the some pictures do not get generated and
instead of seeing the preview of the picture I see the generic jpg or
gif image file picture.
