insert document as an icon into word

I'm creating an agenda in Word 2007 and would like to link documents to it,
so that they appear as an icon within the agenda and can be selected and
opened. I have done this in earlier versions of Word but have been unable,
so far, to find a way to do it in 2007.
 
On the Insert tab of the Ribbon, click on the down arrow next to Object in
the Text section and then on the Object item in the list and then in the
Object dialog that appears, select the Create from File tab and then Browse
to the file that you want to insert and after selecting it an clicking on
Insert in the Browse dailog, put a check mark in the Display as icon box.
