Insert Current Date Save as Static Date

Hi

I would like to create a template whereby when a user opens a copy of a
template the current date automatically appears (insert date >
Automatically update), however when the document is saved the date
changes to a static date.

A CreateDate field should satisfy your requirements. The date in the
template will not update; the date in each newly created document will be
updated to the current date and will not update thereafter. See
