Insert Boot Disk??

A friend is visiting me. When she fired up her laptop she received an error
message that said "insert Boot Disk". First time that has ever happened. She
is running WIN XP (HE). No Set Up choices. No nothing except the error
message. Can anyone help?

That is often a hard drive issue.
It means the operating system can not be found and usually says so.

Usually reseating the hard drive connections resolves the issue.
