I've managed to add a scroll bar to my Contact Detail form (template) but
it's just on one, I want it on all my contacts, what am I doing wrong?

Della,

We need just a little bit more info here. Which version are you using
(2007?). Are you referring to the contacts database where the contacts
details has a tabpage on it?

Where did you put the scrollbar, is it on the form or is it on the tabpage?

It's 2007 but I don't believe the contact detail form has a tab page on it.
On the left I have my list of forms and "contact detail" is on the list...it
opens a large window to show the detail. The scroll bar is at the far right
of the actual form. I have a "note" field that I added a scroll bar to and
it's great. I can't understand why, when I go out of the detail form and see
the Contact list and select a different contact and open detail form for
them, there's no scroll bar. I will add however, that when the detail form
is open, there's a "go to" window at the top, I can hit the drop down menu
and select a contact from there and when the detail form of that new contact
opens, THEN there's a scroll bar. (also, that drop down menu from the goto
field is alphabetized by their first names and I don't know how to change
that to last)...Thank you for your patienct with me....

Did you create the database from the contacts database template which you can
choose from the Welcome screen of Access? In that case we are talking about
the same form.

It looks like you added a scrollbar to the notes field. This will only be
shown when the information in it doesn'f fit the field. So try typing some
additional info in this field to see if it shows up.

If a scrollbar appears on the right side of the form it will be because the
form is actually bigger than your monitor can display.

So all in all I think it's just a matter of entering data in the notes field
and the scrollbar will show up when necessary.

We are talking about the same form and I did successfully add a scroll bar in
the notes field but I also added a scroll bar to the actual form as it's too
large to display all the information...my problem is....the scroll bar only
appears on the form if I go to each individual contact via the "go to"
button's drop down menu and not from the contact list as it should. The
scroll bar does not automatically appear on the contact detail form when all
the data cannot be seen - so - I added the scroll bar, from the design view,
on the contact detail form -but- it is not showing up if you open a contact
from the contact list...thank you for your patience with me and I appreciate
your help.
