input signal problems on hp f1523

Ive recently got a new base unit on xp and now i am having monitor problems
at first it said error message input signal out of range ,downloaded latest
driver from hp and it now wont turn off and message of no input signal any
one help!!!!!!!!11

First, if you press and hold the power button for 5-7 seconds, you should be
able to turn off the computer.

Second, with the machine off unplug and reconnect the monitor cable.

Third, restart in Safe Mode. Press F8 while the system boots to get to the
safe mode prompt. In Safe Mode, go to Control Panel, Display, and select
the correct monitor and the lowest resolution and colour depth that you
can - just take the defaults.

You may need to try another monitor or video adapter.
