Input mask in paramater query

Greetings Group,

I have an input mask setup in the properties of a select query field. This
same field is also the variable parameter for the query. When I run the
query the parameter dialog box does not require the input mask format I
specified. What am I missing?

I don't think the default parameter query dialog box does any
validation checking.

To do otherwise, you'd need to create your own custom dialog box.

In MS Access 2000's help file (it *should* be in later versions too,
but MS likes to change the help files around a lot), look up the help
topic "Create a parameter query that gets criteria from a custom
dialog box", and "Create a custom dialog box".
