I'm having a problem at one site with InoculateIT 6.
The site has 6 PC's running Windows 2000 Pro and a server running Windows
2000 Server / ISA Server 2000.
The internet connection is via a USB ADSL modem (Intel) .
The problem is that, when I install the AV software, the clients all work
until I log on as a normal user (no admin rights). They get to the login
screen fine, but when you login, they all grind to a halt. It takes 20 - 30
minutes to get anything drawn on the desktop, even an empty task bar!
Safe mode is fine, and once it 'breaks', the only fix I can find is to
remove the AV software.
I've tried this also from a basic O/S install with just enough drivers on to
get the LAN working. Same result, so I'm ruling out any client side
problems.
Just to make it worse, this is one of four sites, all talking and updating
(active directory) over the internet. The software setup is the same on all
sites and the AV works on the others. The only difference between the sites
is that the problem site uses ADSL via a USB modem to connect and the other
three sites use cable modems via a second LAN card.
I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction to fix this. Any
extra information about the installations can be provided if required.
Oh, and I've asked the AV people about it and they just wanted me to check
if any other AV products had been installed and told me how to go about
removing them! (no other AV products on these PC's)
