Hi:

Hopefully someone can shed light on the following network
problem:
I have an infrastructure network using Ethernet, 802.11b
adapters and a wireless router with 4 Ethernet ports.

All systems work fine with Ethernet through the router.
XP systems work fine with 802.11b adapters through the
router.

Win98SE with 802.11b adapters do not work with the router.

The SSID is the same on "all" the wireless systems.

Internet connection is broadband satellite.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

How to fix wireless connection issues

1. Make sure all wireless devices are using the same mode, infrastructure in
the most cases.
2. Make sure all wireless devices have the same SSID.
3. Make sure all wireless devices have the same WEP encryption settings if
you have enabled them.
4. Make sure you have added the wireless MAC into MAC Address Control if you
enable it.
5. Use ipconfig and ping to test the connection. All wireless devices must
be in the same IP range.
