index errors

while opening up an access file a message AO Index is not
an index on this table pops up...a repiar was done but to
no avail. thanks. I just needed my access documents to
come out.

I have never heard of this, but this is what I would do:

1. open the table in design view, delete the index, and save it.
2. close the database
3. repair / compact it
4. open the table in design view again, and recreate the index and save it.
