Index a book excluding first 25 pages

I've created a concordance file from which to create my index. I'd like to
exclude the first 25 pages (cover, acknowledgements, preface, TOC) from being
automatically marked. Any suggestions?

A couple of possibilities:

1. Temporarily delete the front matter before indexing (copy to a separate
file, then paste back in later).

2. Index the entire document, then select just the front matter and use Find
and Replace to delete the index entry fields; to do this, make sure that
Hidden text is displayed, then search for ^19 XE and replace with nothing
(in the selection only).
