increasing simultaneous downloads?

how do you increase the number of simultaneous downloads
you can perform on internet explorer 6.0, on a windows XP
machine? with netscape i can download as many
simultaneous sessions as i want, but with explorer six i
seem to be limited to 2 at a time. any suggestions?
