increasing access database records.

I was told access database records on a website can not be
more than 250 records. How do increase this? because, on
the site i implemented it keeps bouncing back or giving
errors. which it wasn't doing before

That's untrue, and downright absurd. 250,000 should be no problem!

Who told you this, and what is their rationale?
